Who We Are Looking For

General Description:

The Sales Engineer works closely with both the Alula Direct Sales team and Product Management to help Alula deliver a cohesive value proposition to the market and impactful solutions to Alula’s professional security industry dealers and partners. The primary objective of the role is to help the company increase its sales close rate with respective dealers and partners. The Sales Engineer will have deep knowledge of Alula’s “sensors-to-services” platform, becoming the voice of Alula technology for sales, and the voice of the market for Product Management. In this role, the Sales Engineer will “pipefit” or configure existing solutions to better meet customer needs and in some cases to also help guide product roadmap priorities for Alula. This position will work with strategic technical partners on cloud to cloud integrations, provide the sales team with a strong understanding of Alula’s competitive position and ultimately how dealers best utilized the entire Alula product and service portfolio.

 

Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Provide both in-market and adjacent market competitive information to help guide the company’s strategic roadmap
  • Act as the voice of product/technology to our direct sales teams and professional security partners, and the voice of the market for Product Management in defining roadmap priorities
  • Work with external third parties to assess and implement partnerships and licensing and integration opportunities
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge and act as an expert with respect to the competition for the assigned product/service category
  • Develop and present to marketing the core positioning and messaging for our offerings
  • Perform product demonstration to customers
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
  • Become a sales process and SFDC leader for the Product Management team
  • Act as a leader within the company
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Work Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer for a communication or related technology product enabled services organization and/or direct strategic sales experience in the IoT field
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products and services
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical background, with experience in RF, Cellular communications, IoT products or connected-premise platforms. Security industry experience a plus.
  • Exceptional planning, time management, decision-making, negotiation, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Ability to travel. Extensive long-distance, overnight, air travel required 40-60%.
  • Experience with CRM, Salesforce.com is a plus
